Specific Outcomes
The following outcomes are covered through 26 modules/ lessons; enabling qualifying learners to be able to do:
● Demonstrate the principles of primary emergency care.
● Assess and control a single injury emergency scene in the workplace.
● Demonstrate primary emergency life support for adults, children, and infants.
● Explain and manage shock.
● Carry out secondary assessment of the sick or injured person and provide appropriate primary emergency care at the scene.
● Keep records of the incident/accident.
Online Training – Done at own pace but will require about 25 hours in total.
Practical Training – 1 day.
Subject to the assessment and moderation of the Online Training Profile , Portfolio of Evidence (PoE), and Summative Assessment for this course, the participants will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance by BLS Medical, whilst we wait for final verification and endorsement by the FP&M SETA.
Once the verification and endorsement cycle has been completed a final Certificate of Competence and Statement of Results will be distributed (please be aware that this may take a few months).

Pre-requisite course(s) / Education Level | In order for the learner to achieve this unit standard the learner must already be competent in: • US 14656: “Demonstrate an understanding of sexuality and sexually transmitted infections including HIV/AIDS”. |
- Registering for this course can take place in two ways:

- If you are part of a company or organisation and have been invited to register with a Group Code you need to register at Group Registration Page to get there navigate from the Main Menu > Online Courses > Group Registration.
- Once registered for the course you need to be Logged into your profile to access the course, once logged in you will be taken to a landing page which will assist you to navigate to your course or next module/lesson or topic.
- Watch the video for the lesson / topic and complete the relevant section in the Portfolio of Evidence (PoE). Please note each lesson/ topic has a timer that is linked to the video duration, so you can’t move to the next lesson/topic till the timer has reached 0:00. When you have completed a lesson/topic, click the “MARK COMPLETE” button and proceed with the next lesson/ topic. The next lesson OR the assessment test for the lesson will then appear on the screen.
- Online Assessment Quizzes: You will require 70% to successfully pass any Single Choice Questions quiz. You have two (2) attempts to pass the online test.
- One of the last steps, is to submit a signed PoE Declaration of Completion and Book a practical session at one of our training centres.
