The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Refresher course has been designed to provide a means for previously trained EMR graduates to complete the required refresher course without re-doing the entire course. If they show competence in the assessment exam, candidates will still be required to attend a practical session to show they still have the necessary hands-on skills for the practical component of the course.
Should candidates be found Yet-not-competent (NYC) in the assessment exam, they will be required to do the entire course again. You will be required to pay n additional fee to the original course you completed.
Included in this refresher course is free access to the CPR for Healthcare Provider and Emergency Oxygen Provider courses.
This course exceeds the requirements of the UK First Person on Scene™ (FPOS)™ Level 3 and First Response Emergency Care (FREC 3) courses and numerous Security Companies in Iraq have accepted this course as per training policy requirements of the Oil & Gas Industry.
Target Audience
This course is ideal for candidates that requirements that require to attend a refresher course.
How is the Course Structured
This blended course consists of 2 parts.
- Online Assessment
- You will require a mark of 70 % or higher to pass the Online Assessments.
- You will have a maximum of one (1) attempt at an assessment.
- Classroom Practical Demonstration and Assessment

Course Details
Entry Requirements
Current in date EMR or equivalent (eg FPOS – I, FREC) certificate, issued by BLS Medical.
Certification
The EMR training is an ECSI approved training programme that is offered in association with the Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
Certification will be done after successful completion of the EMR cognitive (knowledge) and a psychomotor (skills) examination.
Duration
Refresher/ Renewal: Exam challenge and 4 hours of practical.

- This course uses both a study guide which you can download and embedded video in each lesson module.
- Read the study material(s) in conjunction with the video lessons.
- When you have completed a lesson use the “MARK COMPLETE” button to tell us that you have completed the lesson and want to proceed with the next part of the course. Please note each section has a timer that is linked to the video duration, so you cant move to the next lesson till the previous lesson has been completed. The next lesson OR the assessment test for the lesson will then appear on the screen.
- Assessment Quiz: You will require 70% to successfully pass any Multiple Choice Questions quiz. You have two (2) attempts to pass the online test.
- Once you have successfully completed the last test, and the course is marked as complete, the system will automatically generate your Certificate of Completion.
